My Message

Once again I am undertaking a 100 kilometre walk from 3rd to 7th October this year for ABF The Soldiers Charity in support of our soldiers, veterans and their families.  (Sadly, I missed the 2017 event due to a broken leg.)

The Frontline Walk I did in 2016 was both an emotional and humbling experience.  It was filled with sights that left me speechless and often really emotional at the bravery and immense sacrifice of so so many young British, Commonwealth, French and German soldiers.  Their general age was an arresting realisation.  The walk in 2016 was also a significant self-awareness experience in my life.  Thanks to many of you for supporting the ABF The Soldiers Charity with donations in 2016.

There were many happy moments on the 2016 event too. When old soldiers get together there will always be fun.  It's required……

If this old ex-Ranger can persuade his bones to carry him the 100 kilometres in three days, and he will, could you please be so kind as to consider sponsoring me with whatever you can afford to help our soldiers, veterans and their families.

Your support means so much to me, but even more to them.  I am paying all expenses myself and so any monies donated by you will go to support our soldiers, veterans and/or their families.

Here is the link that you can use if you wish to sponsor me.

Thank you very much indeed for reading this.

Here are two videos that may be of interest to you about our soldiers.  The first one was shot by the Royal Irish padre, as it happened.  The patrol commander was then Sergeant Ryan McCready.  He was chosen as the most outstanding British Soldier of 2011.

Location Name
The Western Front: 3rd - 7th October 2018
I'm taking part in the Frontline Walk - a 100km trek across the battlefields of WWI to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War whilst helping to support the soldiers and veterans of today.

It will be a physically and emotionally tough challenge, as I follow in the footsteps of those who fought 100 years ago.

I'm doing it all for ABF The Soldiers' Charity, the National Charity of the British Army. They support soldiers, veterans and their families when they need it most.
