Our Message

For the second time as a team of siblings we're taking part in the Frontline Walk - a 100km trek in 3 days to commemorate the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom whilst helping to support the soldiers and veterans of today.

We know what a physically and emotionally tough challenge it is, but we're doing it all for a great cause: ABF The Soldiers' Charity, the National Charity of the British Army. They support soldiers, veterans and their families when they need it most.

We are 'Team Dug-out rats' after a line in a poem by Wilfred Owen MC who was tragically killed in action on 4 November 1918 during the crossing of the Sambre–Oise Canal, exactly one week (almost to the hour) before the signing of the Armistice which ended the war, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant the day after his death

A Terre - Wilfred Owen

I tried to peg out soldierly,—no use!
One dies of war like any old disease.
This bandage feels like pennies on my eyes.
I have my medals?—Discs to make eyes close.
My glorious ribbons?—Ripped from my own back
In scarlet shreds. (That's for your poetry book.).........
O Life, Life, let me breathe,—a dug-out rat!
Not worse than ours the lives rats lead—
Nosing along at night down some safe rut,
They find a shell-proof home before they rot.

Please cheer us on by making a donation towards our target - we'll be forever grateful!  Last time we raised over £4000, please help us to break that total in 2019.
